FLOATING
A rounded inset bar that keeps the desktop edge visible and the whole workspace feeling lighter.

EDGE
A full-width taskbar locked to the display edge for maximum room, visibility, and familiar taskbar behavior.

KREWBAR OVERVIEW
Choose Floating or Edge, set size and auto-hide, and decide whether the Companion, KrewBar, or both appear.

COMPANION + KREWBAR
Otto stands on the bar while KrewBar keeps real apps and windows within reach.
EVERY WINDOW VISIBLE
Never grouping gives each open window its own target, with useful app, window, and document titles.
COMPACT BY APP
Group by application when you want a tighter bar, while keeping running work one click away.
Pin Left and Pin Right describe real destinations. Separators create rhythm. Spacers and Flexible Space make layout behavior visible instead of requiring a lesson in layout terminology.

Ring / Orbit
A fast radial launcher for capture, focus, media, file actions, and app-specific commands.

Shelf + File Tools
A temporary local holding area for files, images, links, and quick drag-out workflows.

Dusty started it. Bandit, Scout, Atlas, Maple, Flint, Thistle, and Otto made the system feel replaceable, personal, and a little less serious.
WINDOW TITLES
“Window 1” is useless in a real taskbar. KrewBar resolves meaningful app, window, and document titles, then truncates them without throwing the full title away.
BAR SIZE ≠ TEXT SIZE
A high-resolution desktop made early labels too small. Separating the controls allows an intentional Small Bar + Large Text setup.
FOREGROUNDING
A clickable icon is only a promise. The actual visible window has to come forward reliably, every time.
THE RING REGRESSION
A newer global interaction system collided with the older hotkey-driven Ring. Real desktop use caught what the automated suite did not.
DESIGNED TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY
Event-driven updates, lazy state, minimal window polling, restrained redraws, and lightweight persistent memory are product decisions when an app runs all day.
