The story

Hopping Horticulture is a self-initiated identity exercise for a fictional garden-focused brand with an Australian twist. The system pairs a simple character mark with friendly type and applications that feel local, low-pressure, and easy to produce.

Hopping Horticulture is a self-initiated identity exercise for a fictional garden-focused brand with an Australian twist. The system pairs a simple character mark with friendly type and applications that feel local, low-pressure, and easy to produce.

The concept needed to feel cheerful and memorable while staying inexpensive to reproduce on labels, signage, totes, apparel, and community promotions.

A single-color kangaroo mark and rounded, friendly typography keep the concept expressive without getting visually complicated — built to print cheaply on seed packets, market signage, totes, and apparel.

A clear concept example for approachable identity systems with practical production constraints.

Creative Direction

An in-house branding exercise, built to answer one question: how much personality can a one-color logo carry? The direction leans entirely on a bounding kangaroo icon and a bold, upbeat wordmark, kept simple enough to print cheaply on seed packets and market signage without losing its charm.

Identity System

The kangaroo mark and rounded, friendly typography do all the work — no secondary palette or complex layout system, on purpose. A budget-conscious garden brand needed a look that felt whole with the fewest possible moving parts.

Field Notes

Hopping Horticulture is a small, deliberate exercise in restraint: proof that a single well-drawn character mark can carry an entire brand's personality without any help from color or ornament.
