1. Who we are
Dead Weight is an iPhone app from Dusty Dog Studio LLC. For privacy questions, contact info@dustydogstudios.com. This policy covers the app; website practices are addressed separately below.
2. Information stored by the app
The app stores your notes, task and deadline details, annual occasions, timer and alarm preferences, check-in settings, content history, favourites and tone preferences locally. It also stores adult-content choices, onboarding state and the version and date of your Terms acceptance. Shared app-group storage supports widgets, timer controls and actions from system surfaces.
3. Accounts, servers and SDKs
Dead Weight has no account sign-in, developer-operated data-upload service, advertising SDK or third-party crash-reporting SDK. Optional pilot analytics is disabled in this version. Apple may handle diagnostics under your device settings. Sharing, support email, backups and the website are described separately below.
4. Backups and copies
Dead Weight does not provide app-level iCloud synchronisation. Local app data may nevertheless be included in iCloud Backup or computer backups according to your Apple settings. Exports and shared images also create copies outside the app. Apple’s backup settings and policies govern those backups.
5. Notifications, widgets and Live Activities
The app passes information to Apple’s notification, alarm, widget and Live Activity systems to provide its features. Task names or other content may be visible on system surfaces. Use Hide private task content, the Today widget task-text setting and iOS Show Previews to control exposure. Clean notifications changes wording; it is not a substitute for hiding personal content.
6. Sharing and support
When you share a roast or another card, the app renders an image containing the previewed content and any name you entered, then hands it to the destination you select through native sharing. That destination handles it under its own terms. If you email support, we receive the information and attachments you choose to send and use them to respond. Avoid sending private task databases or unnecessary personal information. Contact info@dustydogstudios.com to request deletion of support correspondence; applicable recordkeeping requirements may limit deletion.
7. Purchases
This version does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions. We will update this policy before introducing purchases that change how information is handled.
8. Deletion
Delete local data in Settings resets the app’s stored data and requests cancellation of its alarms and notifications. A cancellation failure may prevent that reset, so check the result shown in the app. Deleted notes can remain recoverable for up to 30 days before the app purges them. Local deletion cannot remove backups, exports, already-shared images or messages held by other services. Contact us about support correspondence.
9. Tone and adult content
Unhinged content is intended only for adults who explicitly confirm they are 18 or older. Tone and adult-surface permissions are stored as preferences. Choosing a cleaner tone does not turn Dead Weight into a children’s service. Please do not send children’s personal information in support requests.
10. This website
The Dead Weight website is hosted by Framer and uses Google Analytics 4 through the studio’s site-wide configuration. Website analytics may use cookies and process browser/device information and page interactions to measure site usage. Framer also processes information to deliver and operate the site. These website services are separate from the app’s local storage. You can control cookies in your browser and use Google’s Analytics opt-out tool. 11. Third parties and changes
Apple, Google, Framer, your email provider and any sharing destination operate under their own policies. External links may take you to other services. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information or object to certain processing. Contact info@dustydogstudios.com about information held by the studio. We will update this policy and its effective date when practices change.
